Amanda has been a God-send for me!  I was experiencing chronic back and pelvic pain after the birth of my first son.  I had been in physical therapy to fix the original problems but I still had continual pain due to having overall muscle weakness and poor coordination.  Amanda was able to target the specific muscle groups that were causing the problems and improve my overall strength to the point where I no longer had any pain.  Then, during my second pregnancy, she was able to help me keep fit and keep moving.  Amanda is amazing at knowing exactly what my body needs and providing just the right amount of challenge and support to keep me moving toward my goals of being stronger, healthier, and staying pain free!

Amanda Barnes is a trainer extraordinaire. She was recommended to me by a physician whom I greatly trust.  His recommendation was perfect for me. Amanda knows her stuff! She keeps up with trends in the field and is fully credentialed. When I started working with her, I was limping and in pain on a regular basis. She gradually and gently got me to the place where I no longer limp and no longer am in pain, which is probably pretty remarkable for an 80 year old woman. Apart from all that (and certainly not to undermine the importance of my personal improvement) is her personality. Amanda is always cheerful and upbeat – even when she is sick. She is truly a joyful person. She also keeps up on what is going on in the world, which makes her an interesting conversationalist. She is a strong motivator, which is perfect for my often weak will. I originally sought Amanda’s assistance with a back injury I received while lifting weights. I had been living with the injury for over a year and had been unable to effectively train and had severe pain even bending over. I had previously seen several doctors who had advised me to stop working out and wanted to prescribe narcotic pain medications. I was surprised when Amanda advised that I needed to start weight training again to strengthen the area and help heal the injury. She made a workout plan and helped with my form. Within weeks, my pain lessened and my strength began to increase. Carrying 35 pounds around my waist can make climbing several flights of stairs an exhausting task. I challenged Amanda to give me a difficult workout and she did not disappoint. The first several training sessions were the most rigorous and difficult of my life. Many times I felt like giving up, but Amanda has a way of motivating, and I found myself working well past a point I would normally have quit. After several months, my stamina, speed and recovery time increased exponentially.I am able to sprint up several flights of stairs in full gear without losing my breath. I am certainly in the best shape of my life. Amanda is definitely an expert in fitness and nutritional training. I would recommend training with Amanda for anyone who wants to improve their health, body or physical fitness.
